The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) will be paying benefits early this month thanks to the upcoming bank holidays.
With Christmas Day and Boxing Day falling on the weekend this year, it means that Monday, December 27, and Tuesday, December 28, are official bank holidays and will move payment benefit dates forward, Yorkshire Live reports.
Fortunately, those who are splashing out on Christmas presents, decorations and New Year's Eve preparations should benefit from these payment updates.
Below is the latest information about Christmas benefit payments.
Universal Credit Christmas payment dates
If you are due a payment on Monday, December 27 you will be paid on Friday, December 24 .
If you are due a payment on Tuesday, December 28 you will be paid on Friday, December 24 .
If you are due a payment on Wednesday, December 29 your payment date will not change.
If you are due a payment on Monday, January 3 you will be paid on Friday, December 31 .
If you are due a payment on Tuesday, January 4 your payment date will not change.
Tax Credits Christmas payment dates
If you are due a payment on Monday, December 27 you will be paid on Friday, December 24.
If you are due a payment on Tuesday, December 28 you will be paid on Friday, December 24 .
If you are due a payment on Wednesday, December 29 you will be paid on Friday, December 24 .
If you are due a payment on Monday, January 3 you will be paid on Friday, December 31 .
If you are due a payment on Tuesday, January 4 you will be paid on Friday, December 31 .
