Union Bears to provide Rangers 'amazing' Champions League displays as Club 1872 fund tifo effort

Rangers singing section The Union Bears will have large-scale tifos for European nights funded by Club 1872.

The sixth largest shareholder in the Ibrox club have confirmed that they will fund the cost of each display in a bid to bring a colourful atmosphere to Rangers' three Champions League Group A matches this term. Napoli, Liverpool and Ajax will all come to Govan this season, with their campaign kicking off away at the latter.

A statement from the influential supporters group reads as they throw their backing behind the main creators of atmosphere at Ibrox: "Club 1872 is delighted to announce that our Contributors have voted in favour of funding stadium Tifos by the Union Bears, which will begin with our first home game of this season’s Champions League versus Napoli at Ibrox on the 13th September. The UB have created a number of spectacular stadium displays in the past.

"We look forward to seeing what we are sure will be an amazing display."

Tucked in the corner of the Broomloan Road stand, The Union Bears have created tifos at other big European matches this year, including the Champions League third round qualifier against Union Saint-Gilloise.
