Unai Emery has revealed that Arsenal have no intention of selling Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer.
With Arsenal having a limited £45million transfer budget, Emery has been a little hamstrung by the business he can do.
Gabriel Martinelli remains the only player to have joined the club so far this summer, although the Gunners are working on deals to sign William Saliba and Dani Ceballos.
Both those signings come with their problems though, with Saliba heading back to Saint Etienne for a season-long loan, while Ceballos would only be a season-long loan deal from Real Madrid.
One of the ways Emery could increase his transfer budget for the summer would be to offload players in his squad, and that could yet happen in the last few weeks of the transfer window, with links circling for a number of his players.
However, there are certain players in the squad that the head coach, and the supporters for that matter, would be loathe to lose.
The Lucas Torreira and Alexandre Lacazette transfer links have died down in recent weeks, but rumours over Aubameyang's future continue to linger, with the possibility that Manchester United will try to sign him if Romelu Lukaku completes his expected move to Inter Milan.
Emery was asked about the Gabon striker's future after the penalty shootout defeat to Real Madrid in the International Champions Cup on Tuesday.
He said: "Not really in our mind. Not really. We are very happy with Aubameyang and we don't want to sell him."
Aubameyang linked up well with Lacazette during the game in Maryland and their partnership up front is one that Arsenal fans will be hoping to see more of this season.
