Ukrainian girl who sang Let it Go in a Kyiv bomb shelter sings to packed arena for charity concert

Amelia Anisovych sings the Ukrainian national anthem to a packed Atlas Arena in Poland.

Seven-year-old Amelia Anisovych, whose moving rendition of Let It Go in a Ukrainian bomb shelter was seen by millions around the world, has made it to the stage.

Amelia opened the Together with Ukraine charity concert in Poland, which had a crowd of more than 10,000 and was broadcast live to 40 countries.

She stood alone on a darkened stage at the Atlas Arena in Lodz, singing the Ukrainian national anthem to a silent crowd.

She later came back out with her idol, Ukrainian singer and actress Tina Karol, who invited Amelia to sing a duet after paying her a special visit in Warsaw.

What are the lyrics to the Ukrainian anthem in English?

Ukraine's national anthem is known in English as Glory and Freedom of Ukraine Has Not Yet Perished

It's based on a poem written in 1862 by Pavlo Chubynsky, but according to BBC's Music Magazine, a few lines have been tweaked slightly.

Here's a translation of the lyrics of the first verse and chorus from National Anthems Info:

Verse one:

Ukraine's freedom has not yet perished, nor has her glory,

Upon us, fellow Ukrainians, fate shall smile once more.

Our enemies will vanish like dew in the sun,

And we too shall rule, brothers, in a free land of our own.

Chorus:

We'll lay down our souls and bodies to attain our freedom,

And we'll show that we, brothers, are of the Cossack nation.

We'll lay down our souls and bodies to attain our freedom,

And we'll show that we, brothers, are of the Cossack nation.

From a bunker to the world

Amelia's moving rendition of Let It Go was shared around the globe.

Video of Amelia's singing was originally posted to Facebook by Marta Smekhova on March 4, about a week after the Russian invasion started.

It's hard to say exactly how many people have heard Amelia sing in the Kyiv basement because the original video is no longer publicly available, but reposts of the clip chalked up millions of views.

One video of Amelia had been viewed millions of times just two days after being posted to Twitter.

By that point, she had earned the praise of Frozen stars Idina Menzel, who voiced Elsa, and Josh Gadd, who played Olaf, as well as Let it Go co-writer Kristen Anderson-Lopez.

On March 15, the BBC broadcast an interview with Amelia, who was staying with her grandmother in Poland.

What happened to her?

After spending six nights in the bomb shelter,  she travelled with her older brother to the safety of their grandmother's place in Poland, according to a report by The Independent.

Her parents stayed back in Kyiv to help the war effort.

Amelia's mother Lilia Anisovych made it to Poland a few days before the concert, but her father Roman remains in Kyiv.
