UK weather: How hot will it get this week?

The warm and sunny weather we've been enjoying lately is set to continue for the rest of the week.

It will be a sunny and warm start today (Wednesday, May 27), with temperatures set to peak at 24C in Bristol in particular.

The Met Office says the rest of the week will remain dry with plenty of sunshine despite some rain in the far north on Thursday (May 28).

The weather agency also says it will become breezier by the end of the week.

The forecast for today says: "Cloudier skies in parts of southern and eastern England should give way to warm sunshine. Most other parts fine but some northwestern areas turning cloudier, a little rain in places.

The outlook for Thursday to Saturday states: "Warm and sunny weather extending to most parts following some rain in the far north on Thursday.

"Onshore breezes will keep coastal areas cooler, cloudier at times over eastern Scotland."

Here in Bristol, temperatures are set to reach 24C on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Friday and Sunday will see further sunshine with highs of 23C.

Overnight temperatures will also be mild, not dipping below 11C - the mildest night looks set to be Wednesday where temperatures will be up to 14C.

Forecasters are warning of high UV levels in Bristol and the rest of the UK all week.

On Thursday, UV levels are set to be very high.
