Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, and Boots have all issued an urgent recall of two Myprotein products.
The items, the Gooey Filled Cookie in the Double Chocolate and Caramel flavours, contain an undeclared wheat protein.
This is likely to cause abdominal pain, headaches, and brain fog to those with wheat or gluten allergies or intolerances, including coeliac disease.
The recall applies to cookies ought individually and in box of 12 packs. Affected items have the best before dates June 17, 2025, and July 16, 2026. All batch codes with the barcode 505610458721 are being recalled.
A notice issued by the Food Standards Agency said: “If you have bought the above product and have coeliac disease, and/or an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten, do not eat it. Instead return it to the store from where it was purchased for a full refund."
The notice added that the undeclared wheat protein was in an ingredient supplied for the manufacture of the cookie.
Myprotein is British supplement brand, initially specialising in bodybuilding. The brand has now branched out to include Myvitamins, Myvegan, MyPRO, and MP Activewear.
