UK's military prison hit by flare in possible 'drunken prank gone wrong'

The UK’s military prison has been hit by a flare, causing thousands of pounds in fire damage.

Two caravans and two cars were hit by the Shamooli rocket in the car park of Colchester Military Corrective Training Centre complex in Essex.

Military police are investigating Tuesday night’s incident.

A source said: “It is possible it was an accident but if it was malicious it will be very serious.

“These things can be extremely dangerous. It is possibly a drunken prank gone wrong.”
