'Ugly attitude' - Darwin Nunez breaks silence after Liverpool red card

Darwin Nunez insists he will learn from his 'mistakes' after being shown a straight red card during Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Monday night. Nunez will now miss the Reds' next three Premier League matches due to suspension.

Liverpool fell behind inside the first half after Wilfried Zaha finished brilliantly past Alisson following a counter-attack by Palace. Luis Diaz superbly brought the Reds level shortly after Nunez was shown a red card for headbutting Palace defender Joachim Andersen.

Jurgen Klopp's selection for Liverpool's next match against Manchester United at Old Trafford is now even more difficult with the absence of Nunez. The Reds have a number of injuries in the squad to contend with already.

Nunez, who scored on his Premier League debut in the 2-2 draw with Fulham on the opening weekend of the new Premier League season, was given his first start on Monday night and it ended prematurely.

The 23-year-old took to Twitter to send a message to the Liverpool fans after his red card: "I am aware of the ugly attitude I had. I'm here to learn from my mistakes and it won't happen again."

Nunez will now miss the league matches against United, Bournemouth and Newcastle.
