UFC legend Nate Diaz lands slap during altercation with Conor McGregor's teammate

UFC legend Nate Diaz slapped a friend of Conor McGregor 's training partner Dillon Danis after UFC 281 on Saturday night.

Diaz was in attendance for the event at Madison Square Garden in New York to watch Israel Adesanya lose his middleweight title to former kickboxing rival Alex Pereira in the headlining act. The 37-year-old was bombarded by fans outside the arena after the fight and they watched on as he bumped into Danis, his friend and McGregor's manager Audie Attar.

Bellator fighter Danis has gone back and forth with Diaz over the years thanks to the UFC legend's rivalry with McGregor, as the pair both have a win over each other in the UFC and have long been backed to meet in a trilogy fight. In the video captured of the altercation, Attar can be heard pleading with Diaz to not cause any trouble by stating that his "kids are here".

Danis then gets involved in the conversation and so does a friend of his, which catches the attention of Diaz. The UFC legend then puts his middle finger up and says "I'll f*** you up" before slapping him, with Diaz going on to also throw a drink at Danis and his entourage before the altercation is de-escalated.

UFC boss Dana White reacted to the incident by stating: "That's a shocker, really? The thing was that, this event has been sold out for a while and Nate called last night wanting six tickets. We didn't have six tickets to give him, so he ended up figuring it out and got some seats. I went over and talked to him tonight, it's all good. Every time they show up I expect something to happen, not much bothers me anymore at this point."

Danis reacted to the incident by tweeting: "Ask Nate Diaz how that smack tastes". Diaz is a notorious bad boy and is no stranger to getting in a scuffle, famously throwing water bottles at McGregor after exiting the press conference for their rematch in August 2016.

Just two weeks ago, Diaz was involved in an altercation with a member of Jake Paul's crew at the YouTuber-turned-boxer's fight with Anderson Silva.

Diaz was in attendance at the event to support his teammate Chris Avila, but was escorted out after starting a heated confrontation with Paul's team before slapping his meditation coach.
