UFC 327 Results: Carlos Ulberg Wins Light Heavyweight Title After Blowing Out Knee

Carlos Ulberg won the vacant UFC light heavyweight championship at UFC 327 in Miami on Saturday night. Ulberg said after the fight that he had blown out his knee in the fight. He certainly did something to his knee and was basically operating on just one leg when he landed a punch to put former champion Jiří Procházka on the ground in the first round.

Ulberg then jumped on top of Procházka and finished the fight to win the title. Ulberg is now 14-1 in his career and has won 10 straight in the UFC. Who knows how long it will be until he's able to defend his title.

has lost this last two shots at the belt dating back to November 2023 while Carlos Ulberg is on a nine fight win streak and getting his first shot at the title. The light heavyweight championship was up for grabs after Alex Pereira vacated the title to move up to heavyweight.

UFC News

The biggest news of the night was Josh Hokit beating Curtis Blaydes in such exciting fashion that he was immediately added to the UFC White House card where he will fight Derrick Lewis. That will be a wildly short turnaround to fight a wildly dangerous opponent.

The UFC also announced that Gable Steveson had signed with the promotion and would make his debut on July 11.

UFC 327 Prelim Results

On the early UFC 327 prelims Charles Radtke defeated Francisco Prado via unanimous decision, Vincente Luque submitted Kelvin Gastelum with an anaconda choke late in the first round and Chris Padilla and MarQuel Mederos fought to a majority draw.

When the Masters ended the fights moved to CBS. Golf fans missed Tatiana Suarez submitting Loopy Godínez and Matuesz Gamrot submnitting Esteban Ribovics, but they got to enjoy a brawl between Kevin Holland and Randy Brown with Holland winning by unanimous decision followed by a featherweight bout between Patrício Pitbull and Aaron Pico with Pico winning by decision as well.

There promises to be a number of very notable guests in attendance, so let's all try and keep our composure. The fights will all be shown on Paramount+.
