The 2018-19 Champions League semi-finals have been confirmed, with Tottenham to face Ajax and Liverpool taking on Barcelona.
Barcelona and Ajax booked their places in the last four of the competition after knocking out Manchester United and Juventus on Tuesday night respectively.
Lionel Messi delivered another reminder of his enduring star quality as Barca quashed United's hopes of another improbable comeback at tCamp Nou.
United had overcome a two-goal deficit at PSG last month but Messi's first-half brace and a wonder strike from Philippe Coutinho ushered Barcelona towards a 3-0 victory, 4-0 on aggregate, at the ground of one of the Premier League side's greatest triumphs.
As for Ajax, the young Dutch side stunned Juve to reach the semi-finals with a 2-1 comeback win in Turin.
Cristiano Ronaldo gave the Italians the lead after 28 minutes with a record 126th goal in the competition, his ninth in seven meetings against Ajax.
But goals from Donny Van De Beek and Matthijs De Ligt gave Ajax a thoroughly deserved 3-2 aggregate success.
On Wednesday night, Tottenham knocked out Pep Guardiola's Manchester City at the Etihad on away goals.
Spurs won the first leg 1-0 in the first ever Champions League game at their new stadium courtesy of a Heung-min Son strike, and although they lost 4-3 in Manchester, those away goals were enough to send them through.
As for Liverpool, their progress was never really in doubt after easing to a 2-0 first-leg win over FC Porto at Anfield, and eased to a 4-1 away win.
