UDAIPUR: The special ACB team of Rajsamand on Saturday nabbed an assistant mining engineer (vigilance) of mining department while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.
According to B L Soni, director general, ACB, the Rajsamand ACB team arrested Rajendra Kumar Lalas when he was accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from the complainant.
The accused had demanded an amount of Rs 1 lakh from the complainant in lieu of providing clearances for operating the crusher plant.
ACB trapped the accused when he took the bribe. During search at the residence of Lalas, ACB recovered cash worth Rs 1.35 lakh. Rajsamand ACB has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
ACB is carrying out search operation at other places related to the accused.
