Uber Eats customer bemused after ordering 100 free sauce packets - only to be charged £15

As anyone who loves a good takeaway on a Friday night will undoubtedly know, a couple of free sauce sachets can really add to your treat meal, but it's unlikely you'll end up ordering dozens.

Keen to see what would happen if they only ordered sauce packets through Uber Eats, one curious foodie from the US added 100 packets of sauce to their Taco Bell order, with absolutely nothing else.

They were left surprised after being charged £14.89 ($18.76) for their "dinner", a sum that included a £6.35 ($8) tip and a delivery fee plus taxes and other fees.

They've since shared their experiment via TikTok, where many followers were amazed they were even able to make the "free" order in the first place.

The takeaway fan, who goes by the username @rickastleyssecretbrother, went on to reveal that the bizarre order arrived in a KFC bag, not a Taco Bell bag.

To his further astonishment, the bag also contained 109 sauce packets, nine more than the round 100 he'd originally requested.

Puzzled but pleased by these additional packets, he remarked: "I don't know why, but I'm glad they gave me more."

In the caption of the clip, however, which has clocked up 15.9K likes and counting, he admitted: "Idk what to do with them."

A number of the TikTok user's followers had made similar orders in the past, only to have them rejected, and so were pretty impressed that he'd managed it.

Others were left utterly bewildered that he'd spent the equivalent price of a decent burger and chips on free food.

One amused delivery driver wrote: "Omg I did one of these orders once!! I swear to god! I just thought it was a pregnant person."

Another person chuckled: "You don't know why there were 109? Maybe because they aren't going to count out exactly 100 sauce packets."

Shedding light on the mysterious KFC bag, a third person claimed: "KFC and Taco Bell sometimes share a building".
