UAE Slams Houthis for Firing Armed Drone at Saudi Arabia

A general view of Abu Dhabi, UAE. (WAM)

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) strongly condemned the Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen for attempting to attack Saudi Arabia with an armed drone.

Coalition forces intercepted the aircraft that was deliberately aimed at civilian locations in Khamis Mushait.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said that the continuation of these terrorist attacks reflects the Houthis’ blatant challenge to the international community and disregard for all international laws and norms.

In a statement, it urged the international community to take an immediate and decisive stance to stop these repeated acts that target vital and civilian installations, as well as the Kingdom’s security and energy supplies and stability of the global economy.

The Ministry renewed the UAE’s full solidarity with Riyadh, stressing that the security of the UAE and Saudi Arabia is indivisible and that any threat to the Kingdom is considered by the UAE as a threat to its security and stability.
