Passengers travelling between the UAE and Kuwait are facing disruptions after Emirates, Etihad Airways and Air Arabia cancelled several flights on July 20 and July 21 due to ongoing regional tensions and operational challenges. The airlines have urged travellers to check their flight status before leaving for the airport and contact their airline for rebooking or assistance.
Emirates has cancelled multiple flights between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Kuwait International Airport (KWI) on both July 20 and July 21.
Which Emirates, Etihad and Air Arabia flights are affected?
The affected Dubai-Kuwait flights are EK853, EK855, EK857 and EK859. The cancelled Kuwait-Dubai services are EK854, EK856, EK858 and EK860.
The airline said passengers travelling on connecting flights operated by codeshare partners should check the respective airline's website, as Emirates' flight status page only covers flights operated by Emirates.
Etihad Airways has also cancelled flights EY653 and EY654 between Abu Dhabi's Zayed International Airport and Kuwait International Airport on July 19 and July 20, citing operational reasons.
The airline said its teams are helping affected passengers with alternative travel arrangements. It also advised customers to update their contact details to receive the latest travel information through SMS or email.
Air Arabia has cancelled several services between Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Kuwait, with the disruption extending to flights scheduled for July 21.
The affected Sharjah-Kuwait flights are G9068, G9124 and G9121, while Kuwait-Sharjah flights G9069, G9125 and G9122 have also been cancelled.
For Abu Dhabi-Kuwait, flights 3L020 and 3L022 have been cancelled, along with return services 3L021 and 3L023 from Kuwait to Abu Dhabi.
