UAE's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry, have expressed concern over the developments in Libya and the ongoing fighting that undermines regional security and stability.
This came during a telephone conversation they held on Wednesday as part of ongoing coordination between the two ministers.
During the call, Sheikh Abdullah and Shoukry expressed condemnation to actions by armed groups supported by foreign forces to place civilian lives are risk, mainly in and around the Libyan city of Sirte.
They called for an immediate ceasefire and commitment to the UN-led political process in line with the "Berlin Conference" and the "Cairo Declaration."
They stressed that only a political solution should end the conflict and achieve stability to meet the aspirations of the Libyan people.
