U20 Wrestling World Championships: Nikita wins silver, Neha bronze as India finish second on medals tally

Nikita secured a silver medal in the women's 62 kg freestyle category at the U20 Wrestling World Championships, while Neha earned a bronze, contributing to India's overall second-place finish with a total of five medals.

In the final, Nikita, who had previously won gold at the U20 Asian Championships last year, was defeated by Ukrainian wrestler Iryna Bondar 1-4.

Neha, coming off a recent gold medal victory at the U17 World Championships last month, showcased her strength by overpowering Gerda Terek of Hungary 10-8 in the women's 57 kg freestyle, securing a bronze medal.

India concluded their campaign with a haul of five medals, including one gold, one silver and three bronze. At the event's last edition in Amman, India had won four gold, three silver and seven bronze medals.

Jyoti Berwal clinched India's only gold medal of this edition in the women's 76 kg event, while Komal (women's 59kg) and Srishti (women's 68kg) both earned bronze medals.
