Tyson Fury sends message to Deontay Wilder ahead of Luis Ortiz rematch

Tyson Fury has warned Deontay Wilder to avoid any injuries or slip-ups against Luis Ortiz this weekend.

The WBC king defends his strap in a rematch against experienced Cuban Ortiz.

But Fury is more concerned with his own money-spinning second fight with Wilder, pencilled in for February 2020.

Having suffered a nasty cut in his last outing against Otto Wallin, Fury knows the dangers faced in the ring no matter who the opponent.

He has just started training ahead of his Wilder rematch and, whilst out on a run, warned Wilder he must do his bit to keep things on track for the start of next year.

In a video message on Instagram , Fury said: "Just out running, doing a six-miler.

"February 22nd, Las Vegas, I'm coming for you baby.

"Training hard, training right through Christmas.

"Wilder, don't be taking any days off mush.

"Don't be getting injured in your return fight.

"Get it done and meet me for battle.

Whilst Wilder is expected to come through his fight with Ortiz, he has been warned by the Cuban that he should not have given him a second fight.

Many felt Ortiz was leading their first fight 18 months ago before he was knocked out in the 10th round.

Ortiz warned: "I don't like to lose. There were legitimate circumstances why I wasn't at my best the first fight. It was a fatigue stoppage.

"I believe if I had continued, I would have gotten the knockout. It was only fatigue, but I've corrected that this time around, so the better man will win.

"We will show you on Saturday night how we're going to win. When the bell rings it will be on display. But we're always ready to adapt. Everyone will see on Saturday night.

"This isn't just Deontay fighting any other opponent. Obviously Deontay had his reasons for taking this fight. But on Saturday, I'm going to show why that was a mistake. I'm going to be the new heavyweight champion of the world."
