Tyson Fury, Oleksandr Usyk Agree to Winter Fight in Saudi Arabia

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk have agreed to stage an undisputed heavyweight championship bout in Saudi Arabia in either late December or early January, SI’s Chris Mannix reports. The exact date is still to be determined, but according to Mannix, both fighters have signed their contracts to fight sometime this winter.

Before Fury engages Usyk, he’s slated to take on Francis Ngannou on Oct. 28 in Saudi Arabia. The 35-year-old Fury is 33-0-1 since his first professional fight in 2008, including six consecutive victories. He currently holds the title as the WBC heavyweight champion.

Usyk is undefeated in 21 fights since 2013, most recently defeating Daniel Dubois in August. The 36-year-old is currently the WBO, IBF and WBA heavyweight champion.

Tyson Fury will aim to regain the undisputed heavyweight crown when he fights Oleksandr Usyk this winter.

The news marks one of the biggest fights in recent memory, as arguably the two top heavyweight boxers in the world will finally face off. Fury last held the undisputed heavyweight title in 2015 following a win over Wladimir Klitschko, but he later vacated the titles, citing a battle with mental health.
