Two workers rushed to hospital after 'huge Boots sign falls on them outside shop'

Two people were rushed to hospital after they were hit by a sign outside a Boots shop in east London, according to reports.

Witnesses reported seeing two chemists workers lock up the Boots store in Chingford Mount before the shop sign fell on them, Essex Live reported.

Fire crews, police officers and paramedics with the London Ambulance service responded to the call-out this evening at around 7pm.

Shocking photos show the huge sign lying in the middle of the pavement as dozens of bystanders examined the scene.

One person tweeted: "The Boots sign in Chingford just fell down on two people."

Another person said: "Shockingly just seen the Boots chemist workers closing up at Chingford Mount and the whole shop length sign fall down onto them. Thoughts with those injured."

The London Fire Brigade confirmed that they attended the scene but left at around 7pm this evening (Thursday April 11).

The condition of the two injured people is not yet known.
