Two teens killed in Vic crash

Two teenage passengers have died and the 17 year old driver is in hospital after a crash at Winslow. (AAP)

Two teenagers have died and another is in hospital after a car driven by a 17-year-old girl hit a tree in southwest Victoria.

Police said the car "left the road and struck a tree" about 3.40pm on Thursday on Harry Goods Road in Winslow, north of Warrnambool.

Two passengers, a 16-year-old Warrnambool boy and a 19-year-old Mailors Flat woman, died at the scene.

The driver, a 17-year-old Dennington girl, was freed from the car and flown to hospital in Melbourne with life-threatening injuries.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash, which brings the state's road death toll to 149, seven more than at the same time last year.
