Two teenagers have been arrested after a man was stabbed in the early hours of this morning (Monday August 23).
Police were called at 1.40am to Scarisbrick Avenue in Southport where a fight broke out.
During the fight a man was stabbed.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance and is described as being in a stable condition.

Two teenagers, aged 14 and 15, were detained by door staff and arrested by police.
Another man was later found on Southport Promenade and arrested in connection to the stabbing.
All three suspects have been taken into custody and will be questioned by officers.
Detectives have launched an investigation into the incident and extensive CCTV, forensic and witness enquiries are being carried out.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the attack or who has any information to come forward.
Detective Inspector Paul Gillies said: “This was an appalling incident leaving a man injured and we simply will not tolerate such violence and anti-social behaviour in our communities.
“While we were able to make three swift arrests this morning, this would have been awful for anyone to witness and our enquiries into the incident continue.
“If you were in Southport town centre in the early hours of this morning and saw anything or anyone suspicious then please let us know. Information you hold could be vital to our investigation.
“Our message is clear to those who choose to carry knives: it is just not worth the risk. We work tirelessly as a Force to tackle knife crime and if you carry a knife it is only a matter of time before you end up hurt or arrested.
“We will continue to work tirelessly with the public and our partners to prevent violence and remove the scourge of knife crime from our streets. If you have any information about this incident or knife crime in your community then please come forward, either directly or anonymously.”
