Two teenage boys stabbed near Oxford Street are rushed to hospital

Two teenage boys have been rushed to hospital after a knife attack in the early hours of the morning in central London.

The emergency services were called shortly after 2am on Tuesday to a stabbing on New Oxford Street near Soho.

A 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy were found with stab wounds and rushed to hospital, the London Ambulance Service confirmed.

The Met Police said that no arrests have been made and the victims’ injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A section of Bloomsbury Way and New Oxford Street remained closed on Tuesday morning.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 2.06am today (12 August) to reports of a stabbing on Bloomsbury Way, Holborn.

“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and a paramedic from our tactical response unit. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.

“Our first paramedic arrived on scene in three minutes.

“We treated two teenagers for stab wounds and took them to a major trauma centre as a priority.”

A Met Police spokesperson added: “Police were called at 02.06am on Tuesday, 12 August by the London Ambulance Service to an alleged stabbing on New Oxford Street, Camden.

“Two teenage boys, aged 16 and 17, were found at the scene with serious injuries. Both were taken to hospital where they were assessed to be non-life-threatening.

“Enquiries continue and no arrests have been made. If you have information that could help police, please contact 101 quoting 558/12Aug.”
