Two suspects taken into custody for pelting stones on Vande Bharat express train near Gudur in Andhra Pradesh

TIRUPATI: The railway police took two suspects into custody on charges of pelting stones on the Vande Bharat express train near Gudur in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh.

According to railway protection force CI Sandeep, some unidentified miscreants pelted stones on the Vande Bharat express train heading from Secunderabad to Tirupati, after it crossed the Gudur railway station around afternoon on Thursday.

While no passengers were reported injured, the window-panes of the train were damaged in the stone pelting incident.

Following a complaint lodged at the Renigunta police station in Tirupati, two suspects involved in the incident were taken into custody for questioning.

It may be recalled that this is the third stone pelting incident on the Vande Bharat express train reported in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

In January and in April this year, similar stone pelting incidents were reported at Visakhapatnam.
