- However, Southampton have appealed the verdict , and are now awaiting to hear if they have been successful.
- The EFL released a statement on Wednesday morning to give clarity over what time the final will begin, with the first part of the statement reading: “Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final between Hull City and Middlesbrough will kick-off at 15:30.”
- The statement went on to confirm that a different kick-off time has been arranged if Southampton are reinstated, as the EFL said: “Should the outcome of the ongoing appeal process result in the Final being contested by Hull City and Southampton, the kick-off time for the fixture will remain at 16:30.”
