Two persons shot dead in Jandiala Guru in Punjab

AMRITSAR: Two persons were killed in a shoot-out incident reportedly stemming from personal animosity in Jandiala Guru, near Amritsar late Sunday night.

Kuldeep Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Jandiala, falling under Amritsar, Rural, informed that those who died were identified as Amritpal Singh alias Sajan and Kulwant Singh, both residents of Shikhupura Mohalla, Jandiala Guru. Following the shoot-out incident, they were rushed to hospital where they breathed last.

DSP informed that the preliminary investigation suggested that the incident seems to have originated from a personal hostility.

He further informed that post-mortem examinations of both the deceased persons were conducted on Monday and the police had initiated their investigations into the matter.

Sources, however, informed that Sajan and Kulwant were walking from the Jandiala Guru market to some place on Sunday evening when unidentified assailants shot at them indiscriminately.
