Two people have died following a collision between three cars in Bromley.

An 88-year-old man and 77-year-old woman died after their Toyota Aygo was involved in a crash with a Ford Ka and Mercedes on Saturday afternoon.

Police were called to the A21 Sevenoaks Road at 1.43pm on February 5 after reports of a collision involving three cars.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, the occupants of the Toyota died at the scene.

Their next of kin have been notified.

The driver of one of the Ford Ka, a 42-year-old man, was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital.

His condition has been assessed as not life-threatening.

He has subsequently been arrested on suspicion of two counts of causing death whilst disqualified from driving.

The driver of the Mercedes was not injured.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to a double fatal collision near Knockholt Railway Station in Bromley to come forward.

Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage are asked to call the Serious collision Investigation unit at Catford on 0208 285 1574.
