Two people arrested over 'dangerous arson' released by police under investigation

Two people arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life after a flat fire in Cardiff have been released under investigation.

Police were called to a fire at a top floor flat in Laburnum Place in  Fairwater just before midnight on Saturday, July 3.

Previously, South Wales Police said two men were arrested, but have since said a man and a woman were arrested.

A statement from the force read: "The block of flats were evacuated and a 25-year-old man and 21-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.

"They were released from custody last night and enquiries are continuing."
