Melbourne Renegades fast bowler James Pattinson has been ruled out of the BBLs Melbourne derby as he awaits his result from a COVID-19 test taken four days ago.
The former Australia Test bowler undertook a PCR test on December 30 but is still waiting to hear if he is positive or negative.
There have been major delays on COVID-19 test results coming back right across Australia as the Omicron strain causes case numbers to soar to record levels.
But the Renegades do regain captain Nic Maddinson and veteran batter Shaun Marsh as they attempt to take down the under-strength Melbourne Stars at the MCG.
Another two Stars players have tested positive to COVID-19 ahead of the derby, meaning they have 12 of their squad out of action.

Top-up player Tom Rogers and star Englishman Joe Clarke have joined the list of those unavailable.
Clarke had a positive PCR test after Sunday's loss to the Perth Scorchers and Rogers was ruled out after his RAT was positive on Monday morning.
Six club cricketers, including Rogers, were rushed into the squad for the Scorchers game after 10 Stars had tested positive for COVID-19.
Eight staff members also remain in isolation after returning positive PCR tests.
Rogers opened against Perth and impressed with 32 from 25 balls in a 78-run stand with Clarke, before the Scorchers won by 50 runs.
Pakistan paceman Ahmad Daniyal will join the Stars for his first BBL game of the season and Travis Dean also comes into their side as another local replacement.
