Two men jailed over murder of Scots mum in her Mauritius home

Two men have been jailed after they were found guilty of the murder of a Scottish mum in her home in Mauritius.

Janice Farman, 47, was murdered in front of her 10-year-old autistic son on July 6, 2017.

Her body was found at the bottom of her bedroom.

Kamlesh Mansing and Anish Soneea have now been sentenced to 33 years and 23 years in prison for the Clydebank mum's murder.

Mrs Farman, who was working as a director of a data services group at the time, died of asphyxiation after being attacked by the masked robbers.

Her son reportedly gave his testimony two days after the tragedy.

Kamlesh Mansingh, 27, a former work colleague of Janice, admitted to choking her to death with a wire after he went to her home with two men to rob her.

Judge Véronique Kwok Yin Siong Yen condemned the cruel act of the murderers who not only took the life of a harmless woman but also destroyed the life of an orphan.

He said the 10-year-old " will be deprived of a mother and will have to carry the dreadful memories of the horrendous nights throughout his life."

Ravish Rao Fakhoo, a third suspect in the case, is claiming a reduction in his charge and will face a separate trial.
