Two men in hospital following head-on crash in East Lothian

Police are appealing for information following a crash which left two young men in hospital on Wednesday.

The head-on collision happened on the B6371 road near Ormiston in East Lothian around 8am.

A Vauxhall Corsa car was travelling south on the road towards Ormiston when it crossed the carriageway near the Bellyford Burn bridge.

It collided with a Ford Fiesta car that was travelling in the opposite direction.

Passers-by were able to help the men involved and called the emergency services.

The 19-year-old driver of the Corsa and 21-year-old driver of the Fiesta car are currently being treated for their injuries, which are not life threatening, at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

Sergeant Jill Kirkpatrick of Edinburgh's Road Policing Unit would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash and has not already spoken to police.

Anyone with information or anyone who has dash cam footage has been asked to contact the Edinburgh Road Policing Unit via 101, quoting incident number 0463 of 30 October 2019
