Two men hospitalised after hit and run sparking police probe

Two men have been hospitalised after a hit and run in Clydebank.

A 39-year-old and a 36-year-old were mowed down early this morning by a Ford Fiesta.

Emergency crews raced to the scene on Milldam Road after the alarm was raised at around 1am.

The victims were rushed by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

Police are now probing the incident after the driver drove away from the scene of the smash.

They are eager to check CCTV or dashcam footage taken around the time of the incident.

Detective Sergeant Barry Convery, of Clydebank CID, said: “Our enquiries into this incident are at an early stage and we are looking for the public’s help to trace the driver of the vehicle, who failed to stop after the collision.

“I would ask anyone with any dashcam or private CCTV footage of the incident, or anyone who was in the area around the time of the collision, to please get in touch with officers.

“Anyone with information which could assist our investigation should contact Clydebank CID via 101, quoting reference number 0256 of 28 Saturday. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details can be given anonymously.”
