Two men have been critically injured when a crane overturned near Mareeba in Far North Queensland this morning.
Paramedics said a 52-year-old man was flown by rescue helicopter to Cairns hospital with head, leg and chest injuries.
A 38-year-old man was taken by road to Mareeba hospital with head and neck injuries.
The crash happened on the Mareeba Dimbulah Road just about 9.30am.
Police said the road was closed in both directions for the helicopter to land and emergency crews to gain access to the site.
The two men were still inside the crane when emergency services arrived, according to police.
It is understood some road repairs will be necessary.
Investigations are underway to determine what caused the crash.
It is the second incident in two days involving a crane in Far North Queensland after a man died when a crane hit powerlines at Little Mulgrave near Goldsborough.
