Two men attempt to ram police vehicle after breaking into Balderton agricultural compound

Two men attempted to ram a police vehicle in a pick up truck after breaking into an agricultural compound.

Officers were called to Balderton, Newark at around 3.50am on Saturday, September 18, after receiving a call from security services that two intruders had entered the premises.

One man was seen in the compound shortly before another man in a silver pickup truck was seen trying to open the gates and get into the property.

Police have said that when officers arrived at the scene the suspects then attempted to ram a police vehicle.

The pickup truck was later found a short distance having crashed, with the offenders escaping on foot.

Police are now appealing for anyone with any information to come forward to help with their investigation.

Detective Sergeant Julian Eminson-Ferry, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Due to the quick attendance by officers in this case the two suspected offenders left empty handed.

“Our enquires are still ongoing into this incident and we would urge anyone with any information to come forward with any detail that may help our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 138 of 18 September 2021.
