Two men arrested following alleged disturbance in Lanarkshire street

Two men were arrested by police following reports of a disturbance in a Shotts street.

Officers were called to the incident at Tay Place in the Dykehead area of the town on Friday, July 16.

Reports were given to police over an individual allegedly in possession of a knife.

Enquiries then led officers down to nearby Cluanie Avenue where they found two men under the influence.

Police then tried to intervene however both men allegedly became aggressive and began to cause a disturbance before they were arrested.

One man was arrested for the alleged possession of an offensive weapon with both men, aged 33 and 43, due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week.
