Two men arrested after colliding with gardai while using horse-drawn sulky to escape from alleged robbery in Dublin

Two men have been arrested after colliding with on patrol gardai, while riding a horse-drawn sulky in Dublin on Wednesday evening.

The two men, who are both aged in their 20s, were allegedly fleeing the scene of an apparent robbery in Ballyfermot where building material had allegedly been taken from a van.

The sulky collided with Gardai on patrol on the Blackditch Road a short time later and both men were arrested.

They were detained at Ballyfermot Garda station but were later released.

A file is being prepared for the DPP and investigations are ongoing.

No injuries were reported and the alleged stolen material has since been recovered.
