Two Manchester United players set to miss Tottenham fixture

Erik ten Hag confirmed his side will be without Scott McTominay as well as Alejandro Garnacho for their trip to face Tottenham tonight.

Manchester United are back in Premier League action when they make the trip to North London in a bid to strengthen their grip on a top-four place.

They head into the clash on the back of a dramatic penalty shootout win over Brighton at the weekend, but will need to cope without two first-teamers for the match.

McTominay has missed United's last four matches through injury and is still not close to making a return, while Garnacho is back in training after picking up an ankle injury in last month’s goalless draw with Southampton.

"Alejandro is not ready for the game," Ten Hag told MUTV. "Scott, we have to wait a little bit longer, I fear. But I am sure they are all motivated to be back as soon as possible as we play a lot of ‘finals’, huge games and, in the end, we know what is going on then."

In terms of other team news, Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane remain sidelined, while Bruno Fernandes is also a doubt for the trip to Tottenham.

"There are some unavailable - Martinez, Varane," Ten Hag said at his pre-match press conference. "We have to see how Bruno Fernandes is, we don't know yet. Is a question mark. But I think for the rest, we are quite okay.

"It's more often that players, we protect them, prevention, but it has to settle down. We have seen he played a full game, and it happened in the first half. But tomorrow is quick, we have to see what is possible."
