The Onondaga County Sheriff Tobias Shelley confirmed the identities of the fallen officers, a deputy from his department and a Syracuse police officer. The officers were initially responding to a report of a stolen vehicle in Syracuse, which led them to the location in Salina where the fatal confrontation took place.
