VISAKHAPATNAM: Differences between a woman and her husband claimed the lives of their two children at J Nayudupalem in Rolugunta mandal in the district on Monday. The woman pushed her two children into a well after which she herself jumped into it.
The children died in the incident. The victims were 5-year-old Bhanu and 2-year-old Prudhivi. Their mother, G Sai, was rescued by the locals. Auto-rickshaw driver Nagaraju married Sai six years ago. The duo had heated exchanges over financial matters related to auto-rickshaw in the past couple of days.
Upset over the attitude of her husband, Sai dropped her two children into a well after which she also attempted to end life by jumping into it. However, locals rescued her but, by the time, both the children had drowned.
Rolugunta police station sub-inspector Naga Karthik is investigating the case. Bodies were later sent for post-mortem.
