MADURAI/TRICHY: The ten southern districts of the state recorded two new cases, one case each in Tuticorin and Kanyakumari. The southern region reported three recoveries on Monday.
The number of active cases in four southern districts dropped to zero on Monday. While Dindigul and Sivagangai reported zero active cases on Sunday, Theni and Virudhunagar joined the list. Madurai, Ramanathapuram and Tenkasi have one active case each.
Kanyakumari (10) has the highest number of active cases in the region. Madurai continued to record zero new cases. The total number of active cases in the region dropped to 21.
Meanwhile, the central region recorded zero fresh cases on Monday. The region reported 12 active cases and three recoveries on Monday. The number of active cases in Trichy went down to two from three as the district discharged one patient on Monday.
