Two female shoplifters charged after thousands of pounds of stolen goods recovered

Two female shoplifters have been arrested after thousands of pounds of goods were stolen from stores across Belfast.

Police responding to reports of numerous thefts from stores across the city arrested two females in connection with the incidents.

Following further house searches, thousands of pounds of stolen goods were recovered.

The two females have since been charged and are due to appear in court.

Police thanked security officers in Belfast for spotting the females and helping them with their investigations.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Shoplifters arrested and charged.

"Two females were arrested and subsequently charged for theft from numerous stores in the Belfast area.

"A number of house searches across Northern Ireland recovered thousands of pounds of stolen goods.

"We would like to thank security officers for spotting the females and assisting with the investigation, thus allowing the females to be sat before a Judge to account for their decisions."
