Two dogs stolen in home break-in found as police continue to hunt thieves

Two dogs who were stolen from a house in Angus have now been traced safe and well by police.

But officers are continuing to probe the pet theft in Angus after two female dogs were swiped during a home break-in.

Officers have now found the animals but are continuing to hunt the person responsible for removing them.

The tan and white pooches were taken from a premises in Glen Prosen, north of Kirriemuir, sometime between 2pm and 5pm yesterday.

The dogs were stolen along with items including tools and a leaf-blower.

A white van, possibly a Transit or similar, with noticeable rust spots was seen in the area around the time of the theft.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Although the dogs have been found, enquiries are ongoing with regard to this incident.

"If you have any information that could assist us, please call 101 or speak to any police officer.

"Also, information can be given anonymously through CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111. Our reference is incident 2392 of 19th August."
