
Two teenagers have been charged after a corrosive substance was thrown during a fight on an east London high street.
Three boys were taken to hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries following the incident on Walthamstow High Street around 4.30pm on Wednesday.
The Metropolitan Police arrested three 17-year-old boys. Two of them were charged on Thursday with attempted grievous bodily harm, possession of a bladed article, possession of a corrosive substance and affray. The third was bailed pending further enquiries.
The two charged were set to appear at Stratford Magistrates' Youth Court today (Friday, October 3).
Two ambulance crews, an incident response officer and a Hazardous Area Response Team were also in attendance.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 4.40pm yesterday (October 1) to reports of an assault in Stainforth Road, Walthamstow.
"We sent two ambulance crews, an incident response officer and our Hazardous Area Response Team to the scene.
"We checked over three patients at the scene and took two of them to hospital.”
