Two booked for threats to vendor

PUNE: The Airport police on Monday registered a case of extortion against two Lohegaon residents for issuing threats to a Chinese food handcart operator of Tingernagar on the night of January 7 and for demanding extortion of Rs10,000 from him.

According to the police, the victim, Sunny Gulamnabi Zod (27), runs the handcart at Ganapati Chowk in Vimannagar. The two men, both criminals on police record, were demanding a monthly hafta of Rs10,000 from Zod to allow him to run his business in the area. tnn
