Two arrested as man left in coma following stabbing incident in west Dublin

Two people have been arrested after a man was left in a coma following a violent stabbing in west Dublin on Friday.

The incident took place at around 7am this morning, outside a house in the Oakwood Grove area of Clondalkin.

The male who was stabbed was taken to Tallaght Hospital for treatment on his injuries, which have been described as 'serious'.

A male and female were subsequently arrested and brought to Clondalkin Garda Station for questioning.

A garda spokesman confirmed that investigations into the incident are ongoing.

He said: "Gardaí are investigating an apparent stabbing incident that occurred at approximately 7am on Friday 11th October 2019 outside a house in Oakwood Grove, Clondalkin, Dublin 22.

"A 39-year-old male was taken to Tallaght Hospital with serious injuries.

"A 40-year-old female and a 44-year-old male have been arrested and are currently being detained at Clondalkin Garda Station"
