Things are not looking pretty for coach Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators following a 40-17 loss to the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Florida is now 4-5 on the season. The Gators move to fifth in the SEC East. South Carolina moves to 5-4. The Gamecocks jumped out to a 30-10 lead at halftime. For the second consecutive week, Florida turned the ball over and gave up a defensive touchdown with under one minute left before halftime.
The pressure is ramping on Dan Mullen, who is coming off a successful 2020 season, but is 2-8 in his last 10 games against Power Five opponents.

It's not fair to describe Florida as a 4-5 team. Dan Mullen has said that he considers the loss to Oklahoma to be a part of the 2021 campaign, and so they're really a 4-6 team.
