Twitter reacts to Bears trading for QB Nick Foles – and it’s a mixed bag

All eyes have been on the Chicago Bears over the last three days as they plotted to make an anticipated move for a quarterback.

While they were in contract discussions with Teddy Bridgewater and showed interest in Cam Newton and Andy Dalton via trade, ultimately general manager Ryan Pace settled on bringing in a face that’s familiar to a lot of the Bears’ offensive coaching staff.

The Bears traded a fourth-round draft pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars for former Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles, officially signaling the beginning of a quarterback competition with Mitchell Trubisky.

The reaction on Twitter was, to say, interesting.

Mostly, Twitter was outraged at the Bears trading for Foles, especially when Cam Newton was still out there.

Some people are getting Jimmy Graham vibes with this move. (And we saw how well that reaction went over.)

As far as Bears running back Tarik Cohen is concerned, this is Trubisky’s job to lose.

But, believe it or not, there are some that are happy with the addition of Foles.

Then there are some that are more realistic, given Chicago’s ugly history of quarterbacks.

Yes, prove us all wrong, Nick.
