Twitter campaign launched to get Lewis Capaldi to Bothwell Scarecrow Festival

A Twitter campaign has been launched to bring chart-topper Lewis Capaldi to a Lanarkshire village.

Lewis, who has experienced global mainstream success with his album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, has been called upon by residents of this year’s Bothwell Scarecrow Festival to pay them a visit.

And they’ve paid tribute to the superstar by creating their own scarecrow of him.

Nicki Blood has been tweeting the singer-songwriter.

She tweeted: “Come on @LewisCapaldi, a wee visit to our scarecrow festival @scarecrowfest2. I’ll supply the Bucky!!!

“Or even a wee retweet for our festival?”

Lewis’s scarecrow can be seen wearing a bath towel around his head along with a Noel Gallagher t-shirt.

Visitors to this year’s scarecrow festival, which ends this weekend, can pop along to the village and see Lewis’s entry in Campbell Crescent, Kirkland, in Bothwell.
