Twelve people arrested after a brawl at wedding party at a Cheshire hotel are released

Twelve people arrested after a mass brawl at a wedding party in Cheshire have been released.

Officers were scrambled to Daresbury Park Hotel and Spa just south on Wednesday after they received reports of a 'large scale disturbance'.

People reportedly barricaded themselves inside a function road at the complex, around six miles south of Warrington town centre, when officers arrived around at 11.30pm.

Police arrested 12 people, aged between aged between 18 and 52, on suspicion off affray.

Nearby Warrington Hospital declared a major incident, with senior management being called in to oversee the treatment of patients.

But only a handful of people were taken to hospital and none of them were seriously injured.

All of those arrested were held in custody however they have all since been released under investigation a Cheshire Police spokeswoman confirmed today.

One witness told the Warrington Guardian: “There were police everywhere, it was really bad.

“I could see it all happening out of my window, there’s still a massive police presence and it’s all cordoned off.

“There is blood all over the floor in the corridor.”

Britannia Hotels, which runs the Daresbury Park, has so far not commented on the incident.
