Twal guilty of pulling young rookie's hair

West Tigers lock Alex Twal was fined $2550 at the judiciary for pulling Dominic Young's hair. (AAP)

Wests Tigers lock Alex Twal has been fined for pulling Dominic Young's hair after a marathon judiciary hearing that lasted more than 100 minutes.

Twal was hit with a grade-one contrary conduct charge over the incident, which came in the second tackle of the game won by the Tigers 24-20.

Twal strongly denied the accusation of pulling the 19-year-old Newcastle rookie's hair but was found guilty on Tuesday.

The Tigers forward could be seen touching the head of the Knights debutant in the tackle, before bringing him to ground.

Twal received a $2550 fine instead of the $1900 he would have copped with an early guilty plea.

All other players entered early guilty pleas for round three, meaning Jack Bird, Josh Jackson, Briton Nikora and Daniel Sulaka-Fifita will all spend time on the sidelines.
